The quick rules
If you only remember one thing from this page, make it this list:
✓ Yes, you can
- Shower with it on
Water won't damage stainless steel. Soap, shampoo, conditioner — all fine. - Sweat in it at the gym
Sweat is just water and salt. Quick wipe after = perfect. - Sleep with it on
It won't tarnish overnight. Many of our customers never take it off. - Wear it in the rain
Monsoons are no match for stainless steel. - Use mild soap to clean it
Warm water + a drop of soap + soft cloth = sparkling.
✗ Better to avoid
- Spraying perfume directly on it
Perfume = good. Perfume on jewelry = makes the finish dull over time. - Harsh cleaning chemicals
Bleach, ammonia, jewelry "cleaner" sprays — skip them. Not needed. - Long swims in pools
Brief dip is fine. 2 hours in chlorinated water? Avoid. - Daily beach trips with it on
Saltwater + sand is a long-term wear-and-tear combo. Take it off. - Pulling or yanking the chains
The clasp is the weakest point. Be gentle when removing.
The "perfume first" rule
Perfume, makeup, hairspray, sunscreen — apply everything first. Wait 2 minutes. Then put on your jewelry. This single habit will keep your pieces looking new for years.
How to clean it
You probably won't need to do this often — maybe once a month or when you notice some buildup. The whole thing takes 2 minutes.
Mix the cleaning solution
Take a small bowl of warm (not hot) water. Add a drop or two of mild dish soap or baby shampoo. Stir.
Soak for a minute
Drop your jewelry in. Let it sit for 30–60 seconds to loosen any buildup.
Wipe gently
Use a soft microfiber cloth or even a clean cotton t-shirt. Wipe the surface gently. For detailed designs, use a soft-bristled toothbrush.
Rinse and dry
Rinse with plain water. Pat dry with a clean cloth. Don't air-dry — water spots can dull the finish.
Store properly
Put it back in its Vibrani pouch (or any soft cloth pouch). Avoid stacking pieces directly on each other to prevent scratches.
What NOT to use
Never use: jewelry cleaning chemicals, baking soda paste, toothpaste, vinegar, lemon juice, or anything abrasive. Stainless steel doesn't need them — and they can damage the finish on gold-tone pieces.
How to store it
Even though stainless steel doesn't tarnish from being stored, good storage prevents scratches and keeps the finish sharp.
Use the pouch we sent
Every Vibrani piece comes with a soft pouch. Keep each piece in its own pouch — never let chains tangle or pieces rub against each other.
Away from direct sunlight
While stainless steel is UV-resistant, prolonged direct sunlight can affect resin/enamel detailing on some pieces.
Dry storage only
Don't store damp jewelry. After cleaning or showering, let it air dry briefly before putting it back in the pouch.
Traveling with your jewelry
This is where stainless steel really shines (literally). No special travel cases needed.
For short trips: Stack your pouches in any compartment of your bag. Stainless steel doesn't react with anything in your luggage.
For long trips / multiple pieces: Use a soft jewelry roll or organizer with separate compartments. The goal is just to prevent pieces from tangling or scratching each other in transit.
At the beach or pool: If you're going to be in saltwater or chlorine for hours, just take your pieces off and put them in the pouch. A quick dip is fine, but extended exposure causes long-term wear.
Going through airport security?
Vibrani pieces are non-magnetic and won't set off metal detectors in most cases. You can wear them through security without worry.
For the long run
If you've followed the basics above, your Vibrani pieces should look brand new even years from now. Stainless steel is one of the most durable materials in modern jewelry — it doesn't degrade with age the way most metals do.
That said — like any well-loved item, jewelry can pick up tiny surface scratches from daily wear over time. This is normal and barely visible. For gold-tone pieces, the PVD coating is significantly more durable than traditional plating but isn't infinite.
If you're noticing visible wear after extended use (12+ months), it's usually time to consider this piece a beloved everyday companion and refresh your collection with something new. That's the joy of accessible price points — your jewelry doesn't have to be a "forever" piece to be worth it.
